Mackays Stores will not knowingly purchase goods from suppliers who make illegal payments to workers, nor will we sanction the use of child or underage workers, or prison/enforced labour. Local regulations in overseas countries regarding the minimum age of workers and minimum pay must be observed and not abused. Operation of machinery which could present a safety hazard must only be undertaken by competent, qualified staff.

Any supplier found to be in breach of this requirement will have all contracts immediately terminated.

Mackays Stores cares for the environment and actively supports the practical use of recycled or recyclable products and packaging.

Children's Hope Charity, Bangladesh
Mackays sources garments from more than 10 different countries. One of our suppliers in Bangladesh founded the Children's Hope Charity. Mackays sponsors 25 children in slum areas and provides them with full time education from primary through to university. Five students have already passed their exams and been accepted into college. Mackays has made a long term commitment to change the lives of some of these children by financially sponsoring their education.
