DUVETS

Togs
Confused about togs? Tog ratings indicate a duvet’s ability to trap warm air. Weight alone is not a good indication of warmth as natural fillings trap more warm air than their synthetic counterparts but use less filling. In short, the higher the tog rating, the warmer the duvet.

As a seasonal guide, consider the following ratings:
Summer 4.5 tog
Spring/Autumn 10.5 tog
Winter 13.5 tog

Fillings Duvets come with natural or synthetic fillings. Natural fibres are soft and light, last longer and allow your skin to breathe more easily. Synthetic duvets are a good choice for those with allergies to feathers and down, with the added bonus that they can be washed at home. Technological advancements mean that synthetic duvets are now much lighter than before, but still as warm as natural duvets.

Child duvets
Children are smaller so their duvet traps more heat than an adult would experience. Anything over 10.5 tog could be uncomfortable so unless the bedroom is very cold opt for a lighter weight, anything between 5 & 10.5 tog.
Please note, duvets and pillows are not recommended for children under 12 months.

PILLOWS

Down and feather pillows mould comfortably around the head and shoulders. The higher the feather count, the firmer the pillow (the down proportion indicates softness). As with our duvets, synthetic versions are also available with a range of hollowfibre types from as little as £3 to choose from.
